Best little GPS
I purchased one of the GARMIN NUVI 270 GPS’s for my wife. Of course I had to test it so that I could “teach” her how it works.

Perfectly Fine
The 270 works just fine in US cities (DC, LA, St Louis, & Boston so far); have not tried it in Europe.

very useful in Ireland
I bought the Nuvi a few weeks ago for use in Ireland. It was much cheaper to buy a portable GPS than rent a car with one installed. Overall it worked very well.
