Cheap Electric Guitars Are Cool

January 13, 2009 by CoolStuff · Leave a Comment

Without a doubt, electric guitars are cool this year. This is partly due to the popularity of Guitar Hero. Here is our guide to picking out cheap electric guitars.

If you are thinking about learning a musical instrument, you have to make some hard choices right off the bat. The first one is how much you want to spend. A lot of people think that if you are starting off you should buy a cheap electric guitar, but this isn’t always the case. The problem is that if you buy a lower quality instrument, it will be harder to play and will not sound as good. Many cheap electric guitars are not very well designed. That doesn’t mean that you can’t find one that is. If you know what to look for, you can find a low-cost electric guitar that will still help you shred like a guitar god.

With cheap electric guitars, you have quite a few options. A lot of people assume that the only way to go is to buy an all-in-one beginning guitar kit, but this is not the case. The electric guitar is probably the most popular instrument in America. As such, people buy and sell them all the time. You can find a used musical instrument that is still in pretty good shape. It helps to take someone along who knows what they are doing. You need to understand whether the frets are lined up properly, whether the neck is warped, and a lot of other things that you might not know how to evaluate as a beginner. Pawn shops can be risky business, and used musical instrument stores are not always reputable.

Of course, you can buy cheap electric Guitars without buying them used. A lot of the main manufacturers produce beginner lines that are still pretty good. My personal favorite is Epiphone. Epiphone guitars are made by the same people who produce Gibsons, but they are a whole lot cheaper. The quality is still good – they just aren’t as fancy. I know some professional players who still use beginner Epiphones, so they are well regarded.

There are a few other strategies to consider when you are buying cheap electric guitars. I have a friend who swears by factory seconds. Factory seconds are new guitars that were somehow slightly damaged in the factory. Usually the damage is simply cosmetic – they have a ding on the body somewhere that looks a little bit ugly. If you don’t mind a bit of cosmetic imperfection, this is the way to go. You still get a new electric guitar, but with substantial savings.

Universal Remote Control Are Loved By Men

January 4, 2009 by CoolStuff · Leave a Comment

Men love remotes. There is no way around it. If something has a remote, my husband will get it just so that he can control it. The problem is that we end up with fifteen different remotes and we don’t remember what half of them go to any longer. Not only that, my daughter likes to hide them, and she always ends up hiding the ones that we really do need. We have gone out quite a few times to buy a universal remote control but so far, we have not found one that can do it all.

The first universal remote control we got was by far the worst one. It was too small, and you had to look through some long booklet to figure out how to program it. It did not have enough features, and it did not take the place of the remotes that we have in our home. It wasn’t so much a universal remote control as it was a pain. It turned a few things on and off, but it didn’t do much more than that.

The next universal remote control we got worked very well, but there were still some things missing. We have things set up strangely though, and I’m not sure there is a universal remote control out there that can handle it. My husband has things set up so that one thing goes through the VCR and the other goes through the DVD player, and I am quite honestly very confused most of the time. If I wanted to play a VCR tape I had to hit six buttons on six different remotes, including the universal one. It didn’t seem like it was doing what it was meant to do.

When we signed up for digital cable they gave us a great universal remote control. It goes with the system, and it was very easy to program in the rest of our stuff. We can control the surround sound, television, DVD player, VCR, and the cable box all very easily. There are still a few things that we have to do by hand, but for the most part, this is by far the best universal remote control that we have had in our home. We have been able to put away almost all of our other remotes, and this one is large enough to find no matter where we may absent mindedly set it down.

Cell Phone Accessories For Your New Phone

January 2, 2009 by CoolStuff · Leave a Comment

Cell phones used to be things that all looked pretty similar. Today, you can find many different brands and many of them have no resemblance to the rest of the ones you may see in the store. Even with all of the variety there is, some still like to do something to make their phone look different from everyone else’s. Sometimes it is about originality, and other times, it is an easy and quick way to pick their phone out of a line up, so to speak. Often, many use cell phone accessories to make their phone truly unique.

There are many different types of cell phone accessories that you can get. Some of the most popular are face plates. You have to get ones made specifically for your phone when you do this, but that shouldn’t be too hard. You can find them even if your phone is rather new to the market. Those that make these cell phone accessories get them out as quickly as they can. You can usually find many different colors and designs from which to choose, and there is usually something for everyone.

Another type of cell phone accessories are the rhinestones or crystals that you can add to your phone. You can get them to make your own design, or you can get kits that are already done and you simply peel and apply. You do have to be careful when you buy this type of cell phone accessories however, as some of them are better than others. The ones that come on a single sheet of adhesive are easy to use, but you will find dirt and lint will stick to the glue. You may want to opt for one that comes in a design you like, but that you have to apply one by one. That way, you don’t have exposed glue to attract dirt.

Other cell phone accessories include charms that you can hang from your phone, though you can’t do this with all phones. You an also find carrying cases that are colorful and unique, and that can add something to the look you want for your phone. You may find that you have a great time getting cell phone accessories, and that you may get an unexpected benefit from doing this. In many cases, your additions may make your phone less desirable to thieves. That alone makes it a great idea.
